Do inspections ever result in discounts on house prices?
Yes, depending on what is found, in some cases a building and pest inspection can result in further price negotiations or vendors fixing existing issues before hand over.
When will I receive the report?
We offer same day reporting. This means your report will be emailed to you the same day your inspection takes place.

What happens if major defects are found?
If major defects are found we will explain how it impacts your home and provide some suggestions on how it can be fixed or investigated further. With a better understanding of the defect you can the make an informed decision how you'd like to proceed.
How do the in-person walkthroughs work?
Let us know when booking you'd like to do a walkthrough so we can secure an appropriate time with the selling agent. Once the inspector has finished, they will walk you through the property and show you the notable items found. This allows you the opportunity to review items and ask questions on the spot with the inspector.
For OH&S reasons walkthroughs must take place after the inspection is complete.
What are your qualifications?
We hold the highest level qualification for domestic builders (Domestic Builder Unlimited, DB-U). We maintain a current registration with the Victorian Building Authority.
Are you fully insured?
Yes, Build & Pest West are fully insured, a certificate of currency can be provided at request
Do I need to organise the inspection time with the selling agent?
We can do this for you. We can call the selling agent on your behalf to organise the inspection time. Once we find a suitable time, we confirm it with you before proceeding. We have found this is the easiest option for customers, agents and us.
If you'd like to organise the inspection time directly with the agent, we're fine with that too.
